Lester Chambers, a member of the 60’s group the Chambers Brothers (who wrote the hit song “Time Has Come Today“), recently stirred some controversy when he posted this photo to his Facebook profile.
In a short amount of time, the picture has received over 8,000 likes and 6,000 shares. And the comments section is loooooong!
But there doesn’t seem to be a clear consensus. People are weighing in on both sides–
Many folks are chiming in to say, “Amen, brother!”
Some are saying he should suck it up and get on with things.
I realize we’re not privy to all the facts (and we don’t have a time machine), but what do you suspect? Is this a case of economic inequality? Or has the statute of limitations passed on righting the wrongs of record labels from the 1960’s?
Was the onus on Lester to fully understand the contracts he was signing? Or is his a list of valid grievances that need to be settled fairly?
