Venue, press, and radio information for the Chicago area

If you’re already going to be in Chicago for CD Baby’s DIY Musician Conference (September 30th – October 2nd), why not book a gig while you’re in town?

During last year’s conference, I joined a bill that CD Baby artist and conference attendee Matt Wheeler had booked at a local club, and it was fun to play some music and get to know him a bit before the conference was in full swing (when I knew I’d be running around like crazy).

Playing your own show is a great way to make the most of your time while visiting one of America’s coolest music scenes. And if you’re traveling by car, Chicago could even serve as the midway point of a whole tour. That’s what Matt did last year, booking several gigs between Chicago and his home state of Pennsylvania.

If you do schedule a Chicago-area show, maybe some of the friends you make at the conference will be cheering in the audience!
