JUST ANNOUNCED: 2 legendary Hip-Hop ambassadors — Questlove and DMC — to give keynotes at CD Baby’s DIY Musician Conference.
We’re thrilled that Questlove (of The Roots) and Darryl McDaniels, aka DMC (of Run-DMC), will be with us for CD Baby’s 5th annual DIY Musician Conference.
They’ll be joining an already impressive roster of keynote speakers that includes Alejandro Escovedo, Gina Chavez, and NPR’s Bob Boilen.
It’s all happening August 16-18 in Austin, TX, and tickets are still available for only $159.
DMC goes deep.
Darry McDaniels of Run-DMC has lived the kind of public life most artists dream of — pioneering a genre, selling millions of records, touring the world, breaking down barriers, winning awards. But beneath his celebrity and success was a man who, like many, struggled with depression and insecurity. In his talk, we’ll go deeper with DMC and hear how he stumbled, faced his fears, and found new meaning in his own musical pursuits.
Questlove lights the way forward.
As a drummer, composer, producer, bandleader, author, and consultant, Questlove has a unique vantage point on the entertainment industry of today and tomorrow. In his talk, he’ll offer insights into the creative tools and business technologies that can make a difference to artists of all genres and career stages.
The DIY Musician Conference offers sessions on beatmaking, digital production, and hip-hop songwriting.
Of course we’ll have dozens of sessions that appeal to artists of all genres — sessions on how to gain traction on Spotify, how to use your email list to drive more merch sales, how to tour more effectively, and so forth.
But this year’s conference offers more sessions than ever before geared specifically towards electronic and Hip-Hop music producers, songwriters, and performers, including:
- Making as Living Selling Beats Online
- Effective Techniques to Enhance Your Songwriting Craft, with Mike Xavier
- The Basics of Digital Production (using Ableton Live + Push)
The 2019 DIY Musician Conference is shaping up to be the best one yet.
Tickets are just $159 for THREE DAYS of learning, networking, and performances.
We hope you’ll join us August 16-18 in Austin, TX for a career-changing weekend.
You’ll be inspired, improve your craft, and build a smarter business around your music.
