Meet our keynote speakers for the 2016 DIY Musician Conference
We’re excited to announce our keynote lineup for the 2016 DIY Musician Conference, hand-selected by us.
Get to know them below; meet them in person in Chicago!
Alexandra Patsavas – The Power of Independent Music in TV and Film
“The Music Supervision Queen of the World” has worked in the music department of over sixty different films and television series, including the Twilight saga.
Bob Boilen & Gaelynn Lea – Considering All Songs
Since 1999, Bob has been the host of All Songs Considered on NPR, where he oversees their annual Tiny Desk Contest. Gaelynn, a classically trained fiddler whose music is steeped in Celtic tradition as well as American fiddle tunes, is the 2016 Tiny Desk winner.
Jack Conte – How to Get Fans
Jack is the CEO of Patreon and one half of the band Pomplamoose, as well as an entrepreneur, filmmaker, DJ, songwriter, and many other things, we’re sure.
Kevin Breuner – Rising Above the Noise
Kevin is the VP of Marketing for CD Baby and a Grammy nominated artist, podcaster, and indie musician advocate.
Tickets for the 2016 DIY Musician Conference are on sale right now for only $99. This price goes up on August 16, and that’s another great reason to act now!
We’ve also got hotel accommodations hooked up for the event at a special rate of $159 per night (if booked before September 15th).
Reminder: we’ll be hosting an open mic for attendees at Chicagos’s Bottom Lounge to kick off the conference! Want to play? You’ll need a ticket, but you’ll also need to buy that ticket by July 31, 2016 to be eligible to secure your advance slot. (There will be random names drawn from those wishing to participate during the event, as well, but no guarantees you will be able to play.) We will be emailing ticket holders at the beginning of August with sign-up info.
