Stop it!

You’re allowed two vacations from musical pursuits per year, right? About 6 months ago I told you to take a break, relax, and enjoy the winter holidays. Don’t forget to do the same sometime this summer, too.

For Americans, maybe that time is this 4th of July weekend. For our friends in France, Bastille Day is around the corner. Put your instruments down, close your laptops, slow the creative flow, quit scheming about that next album or gig, and go be with the one you love, or love the one you’re with (as Stephen Stills instructs). BBQ some food. Blow something up. Watch your hands and face!

Relax! Refresh! Renew!

Music-making can be fun, but it can also be stressful. So today on the DIY Musician Blog, instead of dispensing advice and telling you what to do with your career, we wanted to tell you to make sure to stop every once in a while.

Both you and your music will be better for it.

From all the folks at CD Baby, have a happy summer!
