Band Photography: How Bad Photos on Your Website Can Hold You Back

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then tell a story that’ll make people love you at first sight.

Rebecca at HostBaby (a great photographer herself) just wrote an article about the importance of displaying good photography on your website. If your pictures are shoddy, shaky, blurry, cliche, boring, or lifeless, chances are that the visitor is going to leave your website as quickly as they entered. You may be the best band in the world, but if your press shot doesn’t capture something interesting, very few people will ever hear your music.

We put out the call to our Facebook community to send us embarrassing band photos from their past. Big thanks to Terry Lee Bolton for being such a good sport and sharing this shot of his band Push posing with a Jack Daniel’s car. Obviously, this picture did not kill their career since Push became one of Detroit’s most notable hair metal bands from the 80’s.
