CD Baby has partnered with Payoneer, a cross-border payment platform that makes it easier for people in developing markets to get paid.
This might not seem like big news if you’re already set up for direct bank (ACH) or PayPal payments, but there are many countries around the world that don’t support those options. Even in countries that do support ACH payments, there are still a lot of people who don’t have access to the traditional banking system. Payoneer helps solve that problem, and it’s available in over 200 countries.
[Note: the service is NOT available in the United States, Cuba, Iran, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Myanmar, Sudan, or the Syrian Arab Republic.]
You can now select Payoneer as a payment option within your CD Baby members account. You choose your pay-point as usual, and when your owed balance reaches that amount, CD Baby will send you a payment through Payoneer.
We do NOT charge a fee for using Payoneer. However, Payoneer charges a yearly fee of $29.99 for the service, as well as a $1 transaction fee for payments made from CD Baby to your Payoneer account.
Once CD Baby sends you a payment via Payoneer, your money will be available in your Payoneer account immediately. If you have a bank account, you can then transfer the funds to that bank account in 150+ currencies. If you don’t have a bank account, you can use the Payoneer MasterCard® to withdraw cash at ATMs or to make purchases.
We’re excited about this partnership because it means many more talented musicians from around the world will be able to get paid for the music they make!
