Alisan Porter has been singing since she was 5 years old. There have been many ups and downs since then: appearances on Star Search, an early career as a child actor, battles with alcoholism and substance abuse, getting sober, becoming a mother, making a name for herself both in the blogosphere and on Broadway, and the release of her debut pop rock album in 2009 (available on CD Baby).
Last week saw another milestone. She won season 10 of The Voice, NBC’s popular music competition. Big congrats to Alisan — and also to Laith Al-Saadi, another CD Baby artist that placed 4th on this season’s competition, and who performed his original music on the show.
