A brand new app for iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch called “Cloud Music” now allows users to stream music stored in their Google Docs. This is an interesting development in the world of cloud-based music for both artists and listeners. You can upload your digital music collection to Google Docs in MP3, MP4, and WAV format and listen from anywhere you get cell phone service or wi-fi connection. No more crashing hard-drives or pesky MP3 players going haywire. For the independent artist, you can share individual Google Doc folders or files (that’d be your music!) with anyone with a gmail account, which could potentially save you time and money when promoting your music to journalists, reviewers, bloggers, internet radio, or other industry types.
