At 2011’s F8 Developers Conference, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced details about some upcoming changes within the Facebook ecosystem. Timeline is a new Facebook feature that allows users to post and view a chronological “scrapbook” of their online life. A number of developments will increase the volume and value of sharing. But most exciting for musicians is the fact that Facebook is now enabling “frictionless” integration with music services like Spotify, Mog, Rhapsody, Rdio, and more, allowing you to hear and share music without leaving Facebook. Similar developments are in the works for streaming TV and movies too, essentially turning your Facebook profile into an “entertainment hub.”

What do you think of this change? Will it help stem the tide of music piracy?
