It may seem like Facebook has been neglecting the needs of musicians for a few years now. But that may be about to change.

Facebook just spiffed up their “Music on Facebook” Page, hoping to clarify HOW musicians, fans, and the music industry can better use existing Facebook Page functions to build and strengthen connections.

The Music on Facebook Page explains how and why you should maintain a private profile AND music page, how to use the Questions feature to engage fans, how to properly create events for each of your gigs/tours, how to link up your mobile phone to your Page, how to use Facebook ads, how to connect Facebook and Twitter, and how to promote your Page at live shows.

Obviously, Facebook is renewing its interest in music Pages, since 44 of the top 100 Pages are music-related. They’re hoping as an artist you’ll put even more effort and energy into your Facebook presence, while giving you the tips to be more efficient in those efforts, as well.

For complete details on how to use Facebook Pages to promote your music, increase fan engagement, and earn new fans, check out the Music on Facebook Page itself.
