This weeASCAP EXPOk, CD Baby will be sponsoring the ASCAP Expo at the Loews Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles.

If you’re attending on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, stop by the CD Baby booth. We’d love to hear about what’s happening with your music.

If you’re gonna be there for a while on Friday, April 29th, we have a lot planned. CD Baby has reserved the Runyon Room (2nd floor, mezzanine) for three different informational sessions, including:

11:10am — CD Baby: How to Legally Distribute a Cover Song

Cover songs are some of the most effective ways to grow your audience. But if you distribute a cover song without securing the proper license, you could find yourself in a world of legal hurt. In this workshop, the CD Baby team will walk you through the cover song licensing process so you can legally offer your music in places like iTunes, Spotify, your website, Soundcloud and YouTube, and make sure the songwriters and publishers get paid.

1:10pm — CD Baby: Your Publishing Money, Unlocked

If you’re an independent songwriter, then you’re probably a music publisher. When your compositions are performed live, streamed or purchased for download, they’re earning publishing money, but you may not know how to get it. Interactive streaming, international sales and other revenue may be waiting for you, if you know where to look.

3:55pm — CD Baby: Boost Your YouTube Income

YouTube is the biggest music discovery platform in the world, so it makes sense that YouTube money has become an increasingly important revenue stream for artists. In this session, you’ll learn about the different ways your music can generate money on YouTube, how to collect it all, and a few strategies to boost your YouTube earnings.
All three sessions will be informal presentations with lots of room for Q&A, so we hope you’ll stop by and introduce yourself.

See you in LA!
