Music promotion with heart

Psychedelic rockers The Flaming Lips paired up with Dallas chocolatiers Dude, Sweet Chocolate for a truly unique gift idea.

They made an anatomically correct human heart out of chocolate (dark chocolate studded with hazelnut mini whoppers and waffle cone crunch, to be exact) and filled it with a USB of love-themed songs, and autographed it — just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Strange? Maybe. But creating an experience or coming up with a cool, new way to sell your music might get you noticed. Or at least blogged out like we are doing right now.

What’s the craziest music promo idea you’ve ever done (or seen)? Let us know in the comments below.

But you’re right. Sometimes it’s a fine line between genius and gimmicky.

I love the idea. Why not? It’s fun, and makes you extra excited to get to the musical goodies at the center of the sweet shell.

I’m sorry but that human heart is a bit too much for me. Way too realistic.
As for crazy marketing i remember when a new radio station started airing they put some stands in the city saying “Free air guitar. Pick one.” It was fun seeing people having fun with their friends while “playing” the air guitar. I believe the same thing was used before in another country and they kinda stole the idea, but not many people knew this.

      Free air guitar. Amazing.
