CD Baby is on a mission to help you make the most money from your music, and that’s why we’re so excited to see our new sync licensing program generating so much revenue for artists. We’ve paid out over $200k in less than a year, and we’ve just begun to scratch the surface of its potential, so we want to make sure you don’t miss out.

Sync licensing comes free with your CD Baby submission, so after you sign up, you just need to log in to your account and opt in.

Don’t have any new material? You don’t need any. We get licensing requests for all types of music — new and old — and the more of your catalog that’s out there, the better the chance your songs will be used on YouTube or other platforms, and the better chance you’ll see bigger checks. So if you have albums or tracks that have been collecting dust, now’s the time to get them out there!

What exactly is sync licensing?

In order for someone to legally use your song in their TV show, commercial, film, video game, or YouTube video (a process called “synchronization”), they need to acquire a license from you first. As the rights holder, you get to charge money for that license. With sync licensing through CD Baby, all the licensing work is handled for you. All you have to do is collect the checks.

Do I retain ownership of my work?

Of course. And you’re free to opt out of the program at any time.

Get started now.

Now i cant make money with my music on my own youtube channel please remove the Matched third party content. Because this is my channel and i earn money 100% from youtube. The sync licensing is when others upload my song and you will find it and get money from them, but it does not mean that you stop my rights to earn 100% money from youtube, because you give me only 50% from earnings. I pray you to return my music on my channel as has been previously otherwise i'm obliged to terminate a contract with you. Give my and answer faster as you can.

      Hey L,

We can have Rumblefish release their rights claim to the videos in your channel. Please send an email to cdbaby@cdbaby.com with the details and we can help you out.
