This is Goat Desolation.They have a Facebook page, a Twitter profile, a Tumblr blog, a YouTube channel, and a SoundCloud account.What they don’t have is a website. This became a problem when a local journalist wanted to write an article about an upcoming Goat Desolation show. Here he is venting on Twitter*:

The journalist eventually gave up and wrote about another band on the bill.

    That is what the asterisk is for. Goat Desolation is fake — and supposed to just be fun. That Twitter conversation is absolutely real, though. We just changed the name of the band to protect the guilty.

    Right Chilly – this is a promotion for their hostbaby services.

    But the point he’s making is absolutely accurate and rather than embarrassing a real band (and there are SO MANY that don’t get this fundamental rule of business – you MUST have a website), they created a useful fictionalization.

    But all you take away from this is bitterness? That says more about you than about CDBaby – too bad really. Perhaps you should take a page from your name – and chill

    Too bad Goat Desolation doesn’t really exist… If they did, the could their next album “DON’T be this Band,” and just use the layout above.
