You can change the prices of your albums and songs on CD Baby in any way you’d like, allowing you to get creative with the ways you offer up your music. If you offer any of these sales for the Holidays, you can always change them back after the New Year.

Give a Quantity Discount: Offer a percentage discount to fans who buy multiple copies of your album. Choose and change the discount to see what works best.

Offer a Free Track: Allow prospective fans the chance to download a song for free as an enticement to purchase the whole album. If they like what they hear, they’ll come back for more. Try giving away a few different tracks and see which one is “the hit.”

Run a Limited-Time Sale: Since you can change your music’s selling price at ANY time, it’s easy to run sales and special offers that you can announce to your fan list. Once the offer expires, simply go back into your account and raise the selling price again.

Make your Christmas single available on iTunes, Facebook, and Amazon in time for the Holidays!

If you’re selling an EP, how do you offer a free track? Do you simply change the price of one song to $0.00 (i.e., zero)?

Exactly! Then change it back later if you are only running a limited-time giveaway.

I have several different cds at cdbaby. I do wish I could offer a quantity discount if people buy “mix & match” from my different titles.

Hopefully one day we’ll get that in the works.

Hey Lee, feel free to post a link on our Facebook page. We have about 50k followers there who might be interested in a freebie!

Hey Rob, you just need to change the price of your album. Lower it for the holidays. Change it back when you’re done. Same goes for the free track– just lower the price for that song to $0.00. As for Facebook, I’d recommend you just post a link to your cdbaby.com album or artist page.

Not sure what you mean. We don’t sell web pages. Are you talking about our website hosting and website builder at HostBaby?

Regarding your price on CD Baby, log into your account and go to the album/single edit menu. You can change the price for both physical and digital copies there. Regarding Amazon, have you set a distribution discount in your CD Baby account? That allows a kind of “wholesale pricing” for Amazon. If not, your price will be a bit higher than you’ve set for CD Baby sales. If you want the disc to be cheaper on Amazon, just set a higher distribution discount.
