You might be caught up playing around with the video, picture, and color layouts in our MusicStore for Facebook, but don’t forget that it can display your reviews, too. Just make sure you check the “Display CD Baby album reviews” button in the MusicStore Builder when you’re putting your store together (it’s the final (bottom) section on the left), and the “Reviews” tab in your store will be active.

Reviews may not seem as flashy and fancy as some of the other stuff in the MusicStore, but they’re another important aspect to your promotion, and the one that doesn’t run the risk of you sounding like you’re tooting your own horn. Plus, it gives potential fans something to read while they’re listening to your songs or clips, and it can lead to a better understanding of what your music means to other people.

Don’t have any reviews yet, or want a reason to make a call for some new ones? Use the launch of your MusicStore to encourage fans and friends to write something nice about your album. Ask them to post a review on your album page on CDBaby.com if they have a chance, and make it clear that they can write as much or as little as they want. The more people who give a shout-out on your page, the better you – and your MusicStore – will look.

Got any good tips for encouraging people to write a review of your album? Let us know in the comments.
